The University of North Carolina School of Law's Supreme Court Program has received the distinguished Amicus Service Award from the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) for its work on the Groff v. Dejoy case.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming every industry, and the legal field is no exception. At UNC School of Law, students are diving headfirst into this AI-driven future. From the library to career services, Artificial Intelligence tools are becoming just as essential as traditional legal resources. The goal? To enhance, not replace, the uniquely human skills that make great lawyers. 

UNC School of Law's Center for Banking and Finance hosted the 2024 Banking Institute on March 27-28 at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, N.C. The annual event, approved for 8.25 hours of general continuing legal education by the North Carolina State Bar, attracted 176 attendees. Since its inception in 1997, the Banking Institute brings together industry professionals, legal experts, government regulators, and students to discuss the most pressing issues in the banking and finance sector.

UNC School of Law's partnership with the University of Tübingen in Germany has provided an incredible opportunity for both American and German law students to engage in a cultural exchange while gaining valuable legal knowledge. The program, which began in the summer of 2019, has since grown into a two-week summer program in Tübingen and a two-week visit by German students to Chapel Hill in February.

At the end of each academic year, UNC School of Law presents awards to students recognizing writing, leadership, service, and practice interest. This year, members of the Class of 2024 received the Bane Outstanding Writing Award, the Coates Rule of Law Essay Award, the Winston Crisp Award for Student Leadership, the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Student Award, and the Jerry B. and Callie Irene Stone Constitutional Law Award.
