Brinkley \u201992, dean and William Rand Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor of Law and North Carolina House Minority Leader Robert T. Reives, II \u201995 opened the event by talking about the reach and impact of the work of the three clinics housed in the Institute for Innovation: Community Development Law Clinic, Startup NC Law Clinic, and the Intellectual Property Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/law.unc.edu\/people\/thomas-a-kelley\/\">Professor Tom Kelley<\/a>, director of the Institute and the Community Development Law Clinic, discussed his clinic\u2019s work with <a href=\"https:\/\/link.edgepilot.com\/s\/891d993e\/DSyRAe3iK02_hzjRxaccAw?u=https:\/\/b3coffee.org\/\">B3 Coffee<\/a>&nbsp;and how they are providing community-integrated social and vocational opportunities for people of all abilities by using coffee to bring people together to dismantle stigma and influence change toward a more inclusive equitable world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/law.unc.edu\/people\/marjorie-s-white\/\">Professor Marjorie White,<\/a> director of the Startup NC Law Clinic also discussed her clinic\u2019s work with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/link.edgepilot.com\/s\/1266706f\/26Bfm9L0MU2xOLzIwZvMjQ?u=https:\/\/www.chicoraengineering.com\/\">Chicora Engineering,<\/a>&nbsp;a Native American owned and operated civil engineering firm based in Pembroke, N.C.
